#EvoqueBay2Bay: the challenge chasing Land Rover historic locations begins!

Next Wednesday, June 22, will kick off the #EvoqueBay2Bay challenge: the exclusive trip to discover Land Rover’s landmarks in the history of the company.
From Wales to Scotland, crossing England driving the new Range Rover Evoque, the best-selling model of the British manufacturer.
The Evoque was recently restyled with a facelift that has refined the design, already very successful and appreciated by customers, and that resulted in new “engines made in Britain”, given the name Ingenium.
The engine is very much in focus with challenge of the trip. The new Ingenium 2.0 ED4 with 150hp, which is the entry point to the world Land Rover family, promises to be the most fuel efficient. And it will have to prove a parsimonious travelling companion, taking us for 565 miles on a single tank.
Made entirely of aluminum, the 2.0-litre diesel is also fitted to other models in the range, and promises record fuel economy for a Land Rover in the Evoque. LR declares 23,31 km /l measured in the laboratory.
But how about consumption on the road and with real traffic? The honestjohn.co.uk site, collects readings of consumption of more than 100,000 car owners, and for the model in question was registered an average of about 15 km/litre, which of course vary according to traffic, driving style and the road conditions. Honest John contributor Simon Harris will be my travelling companion.
Our trip, linking two of the landmarks in the timeline of Land Rover with the beautiful Range Rover Evoque will start from Wales, more precisely from Red Wharf Bay, a place where LR’s history began.

Two days of driving will get us to the finish line of Islay, Scottish island, another milestone in the history of Land Rover.

We will cross the West of England, going from North Wales, the Lake District, and finally the west of Scotland, coming after a ferry crossing, at Laggan Bay.

The challenge is open. I’m ready to tell you about the landmarks of history Land Rover and to counteract Simon Harris’s frugal driving skills, during my stints driving on the wrong side of the road.
Obviously I am joking. I’m confident in the fuel-sipping ability of Evoque Ingenium engine and my ability in adapting to driving on the right.
You just have to follow us on social networks starting from Wednesday, to discover a unique itinerary, chasing LR historic locations, and whether the car succeeds in the challenge!
